* Nothing is deleted when your account is closed.
* You can still access your account and all the boards within, in a read-only mode.
* You cannot create, edit or export boards.
* You can delete individual boards, delete teams, remove people, or delete the entire organization account.
* If you wish to remove all your organization data from Spreo, you must delete the organization account in the Admin tools (linked to <https://spreo.io/manage>. Warning - deleting an organization is permanent.
* Individual user profiles are not deleted when you delete a team or organization. Each individual must login and delete their own profile.

### Read-only accounts

An account becomes read-only when its trial ends ('Expired'), its plan is cancelled ('Closed') or a payment fails ('Past Due'). While an account is read-only:

* Boards open in view mode
* You cannot create, edit or export boards
* AI assistants connected through MCP stop working
* Nothing is deleted

### Failed payments

If a payment fails, the account is marked 'Past Due' and becomes read-only. You will see 'Your account is past due' with an 'Update Now' button, which takes you to update your payment. Full access returns once the payment goes through.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.spreo.io/management/billing-and-subscription.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
