# Teams and Members

Organize your boards and member access to boards by using teams.

{% hint style="info" %}
Team limits apply based on your plan. For example, the Starter plan is limited to 1 team. The number of members is limited to the seats in your plan. More teams are available on the Business and Enterprise plans. For full details read our [Plans overview.](/plans/plans-overview.md)
{% endhint %}

### Your Teams

Your active team is shown in the left menu and the top of the dashboard.

To select a different team, use the dropdown menu:

### Managing your team

#### Inviting new members

You can add members to your team in a number of ways:

* Use the + icon next to the team select dropdown or next to the team profile images at the top of the dashboard
* You can add team members via name (if they already have an account in your org), email or link. <mark style="background-color:purple;">Invite links expire after 14 days.</mark>
* If you are an Admin or Owner, you can open the [Manage Teams](https://spreo.io/manage/teams) screen via the team dropdown.
* You can invite existing Account members to another team, or send an invite to new people to join.

#### Create a new team

New Teams can be created from the dashboard by any member of the Account, if your plan allows it (all plans except Starter):

<figure><img src="https://2875185778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FwEhLPSRTDuhd61395hZu%2Fuploads%2FdEQFM554uKKajFf2fBA1%2Fteams-create.png?alt=media&#x26;token=049d2703-55cb-46cc-9d36-017e21bf6794" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Note - Admins and Owners can choose whether Members can create their own Teams:

<figure><img src="https://2875185778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FwEhLPSRTDuhd61395hZu%2Fuploads%2FYfJ4DHi6WUrrH5xqhyh5%2Fteams-create-permission.png?alt=media&#x26;token=d3492aaa-66f2-4e2c-bb5a-e0310a798745" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Or, Admins and Owners can use the [Manage Team](https://spreo.io/manage/teams) screen to create or delete teams for your organization account:

<figure><img src="https://2875185778-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FwEhLPSRTDuhd61395hZu%2Fuploads%2FMHxVEOjMi9rcAxW16Yyo%2Fteams-create-manage.png?alt=media&#x26;token=e21a96d2-ce08-4e9e-aa4e-5680739472a1" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* Members can be in multiple teams
* Teams can have as many members as you like (limited by your plan)
* The person creating the team is automatically added to the team
* Use 'Add People' to add existing members to another team
* To remove members, click on your team to 'open' it and use the option at the end of each person's row
* Members can access boards in a team they have been added to, or they can be directly invited to individual boards in other teams.

### Team limits

* Starter Plan: 1 Team
* Business Plan: Unlimited Teams. Members are limited to the seats in your plan
* Enterprise Plan: Unlimited Teams and Members

If you need to add more members, or change plan to add more teams, Owners can change your plan from Billing in the Admin menu.

For full details on all plans, read our [Plan Overview.](/plans/plans-overview.md)

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.spreo.io/dashboard/teams-and-members.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
